Humility and the Heart of God

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to know God? I mean to really know him. I have found that (to some degree) the way to really know God we’ve got to spend time with him, reading his word, praying and listening; to just be there for him. We’ve got to really know God - whatever he is willing to reveal about himself to us, we must take it and run with it. The more true humility we possess, the more of himself he will reveal to us; the greater our humility, the greater our knowledge and awareness of God. True humility is in the knowing - (possessing information that is secret or known only to a small group of people). God will show more of his secrets to those that walk in true humility. Truly humble persons are in the know - God will reveal more and more of himself to them.

We don’t have to know everything about him; we can’t, but the more we do know, the greater the humility in our lives. Knowing God - really knowing God is a level beyond faith; it’s more than a relationship and a step above intimacy. True humility is a level beyond all of these things. True humility really knows God; his character, his style, his moods, his power, and his ability. True humility takes you directly to the heart of God.

Now, take David for instance; he was a man after God’s own heart - He knew God. He knew how to repent; he knew how to whisper sweet something’s into his ear; he knew how to praise him, and he knew how to worship him. He knew what it took to stay in harmony with God. True humility - true humility - let it flow. And take note of this:

• Faith gets you into His promises

• Relationship gets you into His ear

• Intimacy gets you into His presence

• True humility gets you into His heart - the heart of God - the center of who he is.
